Silence

2026
Workshop, Installation

A workshop by PHKA and Weddingism

Venue:
Anh Luh Zhujiajiao, Shanghai
April 8-10, 2026

In ancient Chinese art, architecture, and craftsmanship, luxury was expressed through restraint. It existed in proportion, material choice, and precision of detail, revealing itself gradually rather than all at once.

In contemporary wedding celebrations, there is a wide range of aesthetic expressions. Some are intimate and minimal, others more layered and expressive. Each carries its own intention and beauty. In this workshop, we choose to focus on a quieter interpretation, one that values subtlety, depth, and emotional resonance.

Silence explores an understated approach to luxury. Through careful composition, delicate detailing, and thoughtful techniques, we consider how elegance can be communicated through restraint, and how atmosphere can be shaped without excess.

The workshop centers on floral design for weddings and draws from our experience working across different cultures. We will share our design approach and the considerations we take into account when working with different cultural contexts, and how these influence form, scale, and overall mood.

Together, we will create floral installations in the serene setting of Ahn Luh Zhujiajiao. The works may take the form of a ceremony altar and a complete tablescape. The process emphasizes collaboration, sensitivity to space, and the relationship between flowers, architecture, and ritual.
